Why I Love Mozilla Firefox!
It’s been about 3-4 years since I’ve started using Firefox instead of IE(Internet Explorer) and ever since I’ve discovered
what you can really do on the web with a REAL browser! In this post I would like to tell you why I use and like Firefox and why you should switch to Firefox right away, if you’re still working with that lame IE !
First thing that I was impressed by about Firefox was the speed! IE is very slow comparing to Firefox. when I just start IE it takes at least 2-3 mins for it to come up and then I can get to start browsing but with firefox it won’t even take 2-3 seconds! Also when it’s loading pages it will show you the page’s content as it loads it, but on IE the browser will load the whole page for itself and then show you the page at the end which can take a few minutes depending on the page size! this is really painful for slow connections like mine cause say i’m searching something with google and you never know if the result is what you want so if you’re use firefox to open the pages after the few first lines are loaded you’ll know if this is the page you’re looking for or not and if it isn’t you can close that page and try other pages right away. but if you’re on IE you’ll have to wait a few minutes for each page so that the whole page gets loaded and then you can see if this is the page you were looking for or not.
Another thing that I really like about firefox is the tabs! I really don’t remember how I could work without tabs before, I mean at this very moment I have 26 different tabs/pages open! it really helps me cause when i’m looking for something I can do it on different tabs and then compare the pages to get the best result ASAP! but this will kill you on IE, first of all there is no tab on IE 6 and on IE7 that there is tabs I wish there wasn’t any! cause again IE is so slow that when I try to open a new blank tab again it will take a few minutes and most of the time during this the IE is in not responding mode!
The best part about Firefox that nearly everyone can use is the extensions! you can really customize it they way you want it. most of the extensions that i’m using right now are developer tools like Web Developer toolbar itself that gives you nearly anything that any web developer might need on a browser! but not everyone needs these kind of tools and the extensions don’t end here there is a vast number of extensions and new ones are made everyday for different people and there are tools that everyone can use like a music player on your browser, a reminder, colorful tabs and… and they are all free!
These are just a few of reason why I really like Firefox and I really advise that you go and download Firefox right now! what is there to lose? it’s a 5.7MB program which will only take a few minutes to download and install and if you didn’t like it you can go right back to what you where using!
